Karen Y. Buster
Karen Y. Buster is a Baltimore, Maryland native. Born in an artistic household, a disigner mother, a dancer sister, and a poet brother that all encouraged creativity. At a young age Karen began to hone her craft, while she attended Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisianna to study Business Administration she began her business selling printed T-shirts and eventually expanded her collection to metal sculptures, statues, and more.
Karen Buster's artstyle is clearly inspired by black art in America. She has a very limited color palette so her work often pops against the back grounds it's on. Most of her works are carvings as well. At first glance, her works may seem like rigid digital work, but upon further investigation they're actually all carved by hand using an Xact-o knife.
